ImgBurn

copy a disc

This may be a long way to copy a disc, but can be better than a direct disc-to-disc (on the fly) copy. No need for more coasters.

  1. Insert the disc to read from. You can hold down the shift key on your keyboard while inserting to bypass the Windows autoplay feature/curse.
  2. Start ImgBurn.
  3. Click Create image file from disc. ImgBurn will automatically scan the drives for media.
  4. Click on the small yellow folder to the right of where it reads Please select a file...
  5. Type in a name for the image you're creating and press Save. It will be saved in the Documents folder.
  6. Press the image at the bottom-left. Looks like a CD with an arrow pointing towards a CD on paper.
  7. While you're waiting, you can place a check mark next to Eject disc near the top.
  8. If all went well then you'll receive an Operation successfully completed message.
  9. Click on the menu labeled Mode and select Write.
  10. Insert your blank disc. Hold down the shift key again so Windows won't ask you what to do with the blank disc you inserted.
  11. Click on the image at the bottom-left corner. Looks like a CD on paper pointing towards a CD.
  12. The image will be burned. If the Verify option is checked the disc will be ejected after burning, injected, then scanned to make sure the copy was created properly.
