How to reset the Chromebook using the keyboard

1. Sign out of the Chromebook.
2. Press and hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R.
3. Click Reset.
4. Sign in with the Google account you want to be the owner.

How to reset the Chromebook using menus

1. Sign into the Chromebook.
2. Click the status area where your account picture is located.
3. Click Settings then Show Advanced Settings.
4. Go to the Powerwash section and press Reset.
5. Click Reset and sign in with the Google account you want as the owner.

How to deal with a fake infection warning

If you're browsing Web pages and a warning appears telling you the computer is infected and to call a tech support number, don't. No matter how many times you try to close the warning it reappears.

1. Hold down the power button at the top-right of the keyboard.
2. After a few seconds you will arrive at the login screen. Click on the items at the bottom-right corner of the screen where the time and wireless signal meter is.
3. In the menu that appears, click the power symbol (looks like a circle with a vertical line through the top) and restart or shutdown. After the computer restarts the malicious page should be gone.
