e-mail reconciliation

This allows e-mail that is moved or deleted on your computer to be deleted or moved on the Blackberry. Likewise, anything moved or deleted on the Blackberry will be moved or deleted on your computer.

  1. In the message listing area, click the menu button.
  2. Click on Options.
  3. Click Email Reconciliation.
  4. Set the Wireless Reconcile field to On to activate reconciliation or Off to deactiviate.
  5. Press the menu key.
  6. Click Save.

memory management

When the Blackberry is low on memory is will start performing its own idea of memory management. It will even erase old unsaved e-mails without asking you. Save those e-mails before it's too late!

To save you e-mails just highlight the e-mail to save, press the menu button then select save. The Blackberry will not delete saved messages during a memory reclamation.

delete pictures
Pictures can eat up a lot of space. Higher quality pictures means higher memory usage.
keep appointments up to 15 days
Unless you need them, you can automatically delete old appointments. Open the calendar and select options. Set the keep appointments field to 15 days. Anything 15 days prior to the current date will be pushed out of memory.
enable content compression
Go into the options area and then security. Turn on content compression. This will squeeze down some files to free space.
add a memory card
The Blackberry and other phones use microSD memory.
Start the camera function, press the menu button, go into options, then for store pictures choose memory card.

trackball sensitivity

Newer Blackberry devices use a trackball instead of a wheel. You can increase or decrease the sensitivty of the trackball

  1. In the device options click Screen/Keyboard.
  2. Set the Horizontal Sensitivity and Vertical Sensitivty field.
  3. Press the menu key.
  4. Click Save.

In the message list press the menu key. Click Options then e-mail settings. Set Use Auto Signature to yes. Type in the signature line. Press the menu key and select save.
